Just got in from the U.S. Open tennis tournament after taking my niece to see the most important black athlete of the 21st century. I'm talking about Serena Williams who is a magnificent athlete and a stunning symbol of both black pride and urban black style. You must have seen the photos of her in black tennis sneaker/boots and her leather warm up jacket that clashes with every element of the elegant Arthur Ashe Stadium -- something that matters to Serena not one bit.
