- Diane Smith's Knight Ridder (via Fort Wayne News-Sentinel) article "More blacks could place faith in GOP" (originally in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram) and Michael H. Cottman's BlackAmericaWeb article "Black Ministers Helping Republican Leaders Make Inroads to Blacks" (and this article) means I've met my sky-is-falling quota for the week. Hooray!
- I saw "The Way I Am," Nathaniel Rich's New York Times review of Adam Mansbach's "Angry Black White Boy" (via Prometheus 6), and today noticed "The Case for 'White' History Month," Mansbach's Boston Globe op-ed essay. (Bet that'll sell books.)
- There's Guillermo X. Garcia's San Antonio Express-News article "Black ministers cite disparity at Child Protective Services"
- Leonard Greene's New York Post article "Big Fat Myths" makes me glad we've got only basic cable and missed out on "Fat Actress"

Mansbach's essay is an insightful one. It's actually one that plenty of progressives have said and researched before.
I think a "White History Month" -- or at least an approach to history and sociology that doesn't look at things in a vacuum -- is just what we need.
