  • Larry Stone's Seattle Times article "The changing face of baseball: African-American players on the decline," Les Payne's Newsday column "Ted Williams stung by splinter of race," Paul Hagen's Philadelphia Daily News article "A dream grows in Compton: Baseball hopes to bring back black athletes to the game" and Andrew Carter's Orlando Sentinel article "Even today, few blacks play Little League: The Cannon Street All Stars fought to go to the '55 Series, but basketball is preferred now."
