No one knows how many clubs or black bikers there are.
"I always wanted a motorcycle, would see people riding, went to several different motorcycle events, just looking, until one day — I just went out and bought one. I couldn't even ride the thing, and actually had someone go to the dealership and drive it home for me. I didn't take a riding course. I just got on it, on my street, rode it in first gear, then switched to second, and everything else fell into place." | A quote from Black Bones Motorcycle Club founder Darnell "Thrilla" Turner, 34, logistical specialist for a Lexington, Ky., shipping company and owner of a maroon-and-black 750 Honda Shadow, in Larry Muhammad's Louisville Courier-Journal article "Leaving stereotypes in the dust" posted in articles on March 21, 2004 12:09 PM | t (0) « Previous phile: Most of us wouldn't recognize the shape of it if we saw it on a map. » Next phile: Wary of sad realities but open to the fact that change does happen. Yeah, I used to want a motorcycle, until I realized my desire was just a midlife crisis move. I went sky diving instead. Bernie, March 21, 2004 1:44 PM
Here in LA, it's a big fat hairy deal. There are black sportbike groups that are as large as 100 cruising in various parts of the city. I just recently went to check out the new Yamaha. It's selling like crazy, as are the $500 (and up) leather jackets by Avirex. Avirex knows their market. Cobb, March 22, 2004 9:10 AM
