It’s human tendency to want something good to come out of the darkness.

"Pain is pain and suffering is suffering, but what you go through in society actually plays a role in the process (of grief) … I would probably like people to recognize (through the film) that African-American firefighters are unique in working in an environment that’s mainly Caucasian. The other aspect (of the film) is to open the minds of some people and foster the thinking that there is a need to have more Latinos and African-Americans in the fire service … most fires in urban areas involve people of color as victims."
